ESession | Jeremy + Camille – Virac, Catanduanes
Virac, officially the Municipality of Virac, is a 1st class municipality and capital of the province of Catanduanes, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 73,650 people.
As we arrived to this gorgeous place, we were greeted by the happy smiles of the townspeople. Virac is just a 45 minute plane ride from Manila, and our destination – Majestic Puraran Beach Resort is more than an hour drive from the airport.
The moment we arrived at the Majestic Puraran Beach Resort, we immediately saw our bride Camille glowing on this summer sun. She immediately welcomed us and introduced as to the groom, Jeremy. We have the whole day to ourselves and we definitely tried to enjoy the gorgeous beach and waves.
As the 2nd day of our trip came, we all agreed to start at the hardest place to visit and that is Binurong Point.
Binurong Point is one of the newest attractions the island of Catanduanes can offer. Binurong Point is located in Brgy. Guinsaanan, Baras, Catanduanes. A Batanes/Ireland hills & cliffs look and feel. Trekking to Binurong Point is easy unlike going to Bote Light House in Bato. Locals call the place “Binurong” because they usually bring the fishes they caught to that place and they “buro” (preserve food by salting; soak in vinegar…) it there. “Binurong” is also a Bicol word meaning “Healed”.
Binurong is indeed the Batanes of Catanduanes. With it’s gorgeous and breathtaking view, the place is just heavenly!
Our next stop was Maribina Waterfalls.
Maribina Falls is situated in the town of Bato, it is one of the most famous and most available waterfalls in the island. The falls is about 5-6 meters high with radiant spouting rapids of perfectly clear waters. It is named after the villages of Marinawa (MARI) and Binanwahan (BINA). A perfect spot for picnickers and weekenders.
While shooting, Maribina Falls’ like a huge temptress enticing us to swim. We can definitely feel the cold water as it streams down. Such a gorgeous and well-protected place.
Finally, we ended the day with a quick intimate session in our home base, Majestic Puraran Beach Resort.
