10 Reasons Why You Should Date a Photographer
Browsing through different blogs, I saw this great post entitled “Date a Girl Who Writes.” The post was so surreal and was beautifully written and I feel like I’m Rapunzel reading those lines. For this reason, it’s time to give photographers some justice. And now I write my top 10 reasons why you should date a girl who takes photographs.
Number 10.
You should date a photographer because she will always know how to make you smile.
Photographers would always go to the extremes just to catch that magical moment of capturing that true and unscripted smile on their photographs. And sometimes admit it or not, you do smile as well when you see a photographer asking his subject to grin as if you’re the subject too and just even at the sight of any type of camera we just smile and tend to do the “peace” sign. I don’t know what’s with us Filipinos and our weird relationship with cameras that even during wakes and sad events; we still smile in our pictures. It’s a very mythical question next toSanta Claus and Unicorns.
Number 9.
You never need to spend so much on dates.
So you asked her out and you’re cracking your head to decide where to take her. If you’re dating a photographer, anywhere I mean literally, you can take her anywhere as long as she has her camera. Take her to a park, take her to the market, and even take her to your ball game. Instead of ranting how unprepared you are for this date, she’ll appreciate you more for showing her the reality. She’ll see it as a great opportunity to shoot and she will take it as a challenge to make the most gorgeous pictures out of such date tragedy. But please, pretty please swear to take her to a better place next time.
Number 8.
You can save up on traveling expenses.
Ok, so if other girls are so high maintenance that they expect you to use a limousine to drive her around, that is a far cry when it comes to dating photographers. When you’re dating one, you can really save a lot of money and gas. Instead of taking a car or something she’ll prefer to take long walks, and to take pictures. I know what you’re thinking… that guy who invented “photo walks” is truly amazing.

Enjoying a sundae cone? CLICK! CLICK!
Tickets to a concert? CLICK! CLICK!
When you’re dating a photographer, you’ll never run out of souvenirs. Your every move and every moment is carefully documented on their film or memory cards. (Hell yeah, films not dead! Still uses one!) You just need to be very, very, very patient to wait for her to satisfy her eye for that picture. So always remember that before you dig in to that mouthwatering quarter pounder, let her take her pictures first.
Number 6.
Your facebook will always be very active without even opening it.
So you had your date, you went out and all. Moments later, rest assure that you will have millions of tagged photos. If some people pay good money just for someone to maintain their Facebook page for them, then you are so damn lucky… and what’s best, it’s done out of love… awww!
Number 5.
You will always have an instant events photographer.
Got a party to attend? Or a reunion will take place? Just take her with you and you’ll have an instant photographer without a pip! She would adore this moments as she sees it as a great opportunity to build a portfolio. But even though she tells you that she just wants to take pictures, don’t listen. What she really wants is to spend a great time with you, and be able to know the person closest to your heart.

You will always have a great rocking display picture.
Admit it or not, photography today has gained popularity since social media networking began. Nowadays, it’s all about who has the greatest profile picture. Once you’re dating a photographer, you’ll always have new and interesting pictures. Get creative with her and conceptualize artistic pegs for her to work on.
Number 3.
Diet? What diet? Just photoshop it.
When you’re dating a photographer, she will never tell you you’re fat, rather she will just say “let’s just photoshop it honey…” haha! So you have this big beer belly showing? No worries just liquefy it. Want some washboard abs? Dodge and burn. Dating her is like dating Belo minus the knives and needles. Lol!
Number 2.
They will always see something magical in even the simplest things.
We (yes, it includes me… lol) always make every simple moment be extra special. Photographers have a very high attention to detail, so even if you’re just out enjoying some fish balls at the street corner, she’ll truly make the most out of it. Sometimes they tend to develop a mini documentary of those events in their head by carefully framing each scene. You’ll begin to notice things that you never thought of, and you’ll learn a lot of views if ever you’ll take a peek inside their heads. Everything just seems to be in slow mo. and you become more appreciative of how beautiful the world is.

Lastly, just date her because you love her.
Congratulations, you made it to the end of my post! Woot – woot! So you might be expecting a tear jerking quote or a very emotional word of wisdom but you won’t see it here. All I can tell you is that just follow your heart. Regardless of who she is, a photographer, a writer, a painter or a stripper you don’t need anyone’s approval if you really love her. It doesn’t take any blog or any guide to tell you what to do. You just need to listen, and follow your heart.
